Deux nouvelles publications sur la résistance à la sécheresse chez l’épinette blanche

La réponse à différentes intensités de sécheresse a été étudiée chez une grande cohorte de semis multiclonaux d’épinette blanche pour divers caractères de croissance et d’anatomie du bois afin notamment de mieux en comprendre les effets sur l’hydraulicité. Les résultats indiquent qu’il serait envisageable d’utiliser la sélection génétique pour améliorer la résistance à la sécheresse des épinettes blanches au stade juvénile, soit lorsque les jeunes arbres sont les plus susceptibles à de tels stress suite à leur reboisement.
